The Giants eked out a 3-2 victory in the first game and then had an easier time winning the second game, 9-3, in a sweep of a twi-night doubleheader with the Astros. Doug Rader homered for the Giants in the fourth inning of the opener, but the Astros went ahead, 2-1, before Bobby Murcer drove in two runs with a double in the eighth to give the Giants their edge. In the nightcap, Chris Speier, Steve Ontiveros and Bruce Miller each drove in two runs to lead the Giants' attack. [The Sporting News]
