Piling up 19 hits, the Twins overwhelmed the Angels, 12-1. Rod Carew collected a triple and three singles in five trips to raise his batting average to .385. The Twins scored three runs, two of them unearned, in the first inning and exploded for seven more runs on nine hits in the second.
