Bobby Darwin's pinch three-run homer highlighted a four-run eighth which carried the Brewers past the White Sox, 7-4. Darwin connected after singles by Bill Sharp, Sixto Lezcano and Robin Yount had produced the first run of the frame, giving Milwaukee a 4-2 lead.

The Brewers broke on top, getting a run in the second on doubles by Gorman Thomas and Bobby Mitchell, then adding two in the third on a bases-loaded single by Hank Aaron. Brian Downing and Pat Kelly got Chicago on the board in the seventh with RBI singles. Nyls Nyman singled home the final two Sox runs in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
