Mike Torrez shut out the Athletics on four hits and Mark Belanger and Tommy Davis each drove in two of the Orioles' runs in a 4-0 victory. The Orioles, in beating Vida Blue, counted their initial run in the first inning on a double by Ken Singleton and single by Davis. Belanger accounted for two RBIs with his first homer of the season in the second. Davis capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the fifth. [The Sporting News]
