Catfish Hunter yielded a homer by leadoff batter Ken Singleton but then held the Orioles scoreless the rest of the way while pitching the Yankees to a 3-1 victory. The Yankees tied the score against Mike Torrez in the second when Thurman Munson was hit by a pitch and Graig Nettles and Terry Whitfield singled.
