. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Chris Chambliss swatted two solo homers and drove in a third run with a single as the Yankees broke a string of 21 scoreless innings pitched by the Royals' Steve Busby and defeated Kansas City, 5-1. New York reached Busby for two runs in the third when Roy White doubled after Sandy Alomar singled and stole second and Elliott Maddox was hit by a pitch.

Chambliss hit his first homer in the fourth, produced another run with a two-out single an inning later and concluded the Yankee scoring with his second round-tripper in the eighth. Rudy May and Dick Tidrow combined to limit the Royals to four hits. [The Sporting News]
