Tom Underwood tamed the Braves on four hits as the Phillies won their seventh straight game and 12th in a row at home, 5-1. A walk to Tommy Hutton, Bob Boone's single, a bunt single by Mike Anderson, throwing error by Braves' Darrell Evans and single by Underwood gave the Phillies a 2-0 lead in the second.

Garry Maddox singled in the third and Greg Luzinski and Mike Schmidt hit back-to-back doubles to boost the margin to 4-0. Earl Williams' double in the fourth after Rod Gilbreath's single accounted for the only Atlanta tally. [The Sporting News]
