Possessor of an 8-9 record with the Twins last year, Vic Albury made it two straight victories this season, pitching a six-hitter to defeat the Angels, 7-1. The Angels' run was unearned.

The Twins were held hitless by Chuck Dobson until the fourth inning when they bunched singles by Sergio Ferrer and Steve Brye, an error on a grounder by Bobby Darwin and singles by Larry Hisle and Craig Kusick for four runs. Darwin, who was credited with an RBI on his grounder, made it three for the game by smashing a homer after Ferrer was hit by a pitch in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
