A bases-loaded double by Ralph Garr in the seventh inning drove in two runs and brought the Braves a 3-2 victory over the Dodgers. After each club scored once in the fourth, the Dodgers took a 2-1 lead in the seventh with singles by Lee Lacy, Rick Auerbach and Chuck Manuel.

In the Braves' half, Dusty Baker singled, Mike Lum walked and Vic Correll sacrificed. Then with two out, Dave May batted for Carl Morton and drew a pass to load the bases, setting the stage for Garr's double after Jim Brewer took the mound as the Dodgers' third pitcher of the game.
