Rico Petrocelli hit three doubles and drove in four runs, including the tie-breaking counter in the 10th inning when the Red Sox scored three times to defeat the Brewers, 8-5. Petrocelli batted in two runs with a bases-loaded double in the first and accounted for another run with a two-bagger in the third. The Brewers broke a 4-4 tie in the fourth when Bobby Mitchell doubled and Tim Johnson singled, but the Red Sox tied the score in the seventh with singles by Bob Montgomery and Tommy Harper, a bunt by Juan Beniquez and sacrifice fly by Deron Johnson.

In the 10th, Dwight Evans singled and raced home on Petrocelli's third double. Petrocelli stopped at third on a single by Mario Guerrero, who took second on the throw. Montgomery then singled to add a pair of insurance runs. [The Sporting News]
