The Twins scored two runs in each of the first three innings and defeated the Orioles, 6-2. In the opening frame, Steve Brye doubled and counted on a single by Larry Hisle, who took second on the throw and crossed the plate on a single by Harmon Killebrew. A single by Danny Thompson and doubles by Phil Roof and Brye added a pair in the second before the Twins wound up their scoring with two unearned runs in the third.
