The Astros outlasted the Dodgers, 8-7, in a see-saw contest that went 11 innings and saw apparently tireless Dodger reliever Mike Marshall saddled with the defeat. The winning score came about when Larry Milbourne, usually inserted into the lineup as a late-inning defensive substitute, singled, advanced to second on Dave Campbell's sacrifice and scored when he beat second baseman Davey Lopes' throw to the plate on Roger Metzger's grounder.
