Collecting his fourth hit of the game, Mickey Rivers doubled in the ninth inning to spark the Angels to a 6-4 victory over the Orioles. After Rivers' double, Dave Chalk bunted safely and Frank Robinson hit a sacrifice fly to break a 4-4 tie. Winston Llenas followed with a single, driving in Chalk with an insurance run.

Bob Oliver drove in two earlier runs for the Angels with a pair of singles. The Orioles had homers by Bobby Grich, Brooks Robinson and Tommy Davis before tying the score at 4-4 in the eighth on a double by Davis and single by Don Baylor. [The Sporting News]
