Dave Giusti provided a helping hand for Ken Brett by retiring the last two batters to save the Pirates' 2-0 victory over the Braves. Brett batted in the Pirates' first run with a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning, scoring Frank Taveras, who had tripled. The other run came with two out in the ninth on a pass to Ed Kirkpatrick and double by Bob Robertson. [The Sporting News]
