Tom Murphy, relieving Jim Colborn with two men on base and two out in the ninth inning, struck out Lenny Randle to save the Brewers' 5-2 victory over the Rangers. The save was Murphy's ninth. Two walks issued by Jim Bibby led to the Brewers' initial tallies in the second inning. The Brewers added a third run in the fourth on a single by Darrell Porter, a sacrifice and single by Pedro Garcia.
