Bill Champion pitched a four-hitter and Mike Hegan and George Scott smashed homers as the Brewers defeated the White Sox, 6-1. The Brewers rapped Wilbur Wood for two runs in the second inning before Scott hit for the circuit in the third. Bill Melton homered for the White Sox in the seventh, but the Brewers came back with three runs in their half when Don Money doubled, Johnny Briggs walked and Hegan clinched the victory with his round-tripper.
