Joe Rudi, returning to action after missing two games with a finger injury, smashed a three-run homer to lead the Athletics to a 5-2 victory over the Brewers. A walk to Bert Campaneris and single by Reggie Jackson preceded Rudi's homer in the fourth inning. The A's went on to add two more runs in that same frame on a single by Deron Johnson, walk to Gene Tenace, single by Angel Mangual and a wild pitch.
