. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Breaking a tight game apart, the Athletics scored six runs in the seventh inning and defeated the Twins, 8-1. Bobby Darwin homered for the Twins in the second to produce a 1-1 tie. The A's were held off by Joe Decker until Gene Tenace homered to start their scoring spree in the seventh. Later in that same stanza, Reggie Jackson connected for the circuit with a man on base. Back-to-back triples by Bill North and Bert Campaneris added the A's final run in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
