Montreal scored the decisive run with two out in the fifth on a single by Willie Davis and the 200th double of Bob Bailey's career. Ken Singleton followed with a single to plate the fourth Expo run. Davis singled home the winners' initial run in the first. Losing pitcher Jim Rooker wild-pitched Bailey home in the fourth after Bailey and Singleton had reached on hits.
