Jim Perry, who joined brother Gaylord on the Indians' staff this year, pitched his first complete game of the season and shut out the Angels, 6-0, on a four-hitter. Charlie Spikes hit safely in his 16th straight game for the Indians. Oscar Gamble singled and Spikes doubled home a run in the second inning. Spikes then homered in the seventh before the Indians iced the game with four runs in the eighth, two scoring on a circuit clout by Gamble. [The Sporting News]
