A homer by Barry Foote in the sixth inning proved the winning difference when the Expos defeated the Cardinals, 5-4. Bake McBride hit an inside-the-park homer for the Cards' initial run in the second, but the Expos came back with three runs in the third on the first of Ron Hunt's three singles, a pass to Bob Bailey, single by Hal Breeden and double by Ken Singleton. After singles by Hunt, Willie Davis and Bailey added a run in the fifth, Foote's homer in the sixth won it for the Expos. [The Sporting News]
