While Bert Blyleven and Bill Campbell combined on a shutout, Bobby Darwin had a field day at bat with a grand-slam homer, triple and two singles as the Twins defeated the Royals, 8-0. Darwin hit his homer off Doug Bird in the seventh inning after singles by Danny Thompson, Jerry Terrell and Rod Carew had loaded the bases. Blyleven suffered a slight muscle strain and left the game after 7 1/3 innings. [The Sporting News]
