Two walks with the bases loaded in a five-run rally helped the Angels gain a 6-3 victory over the Brewers. Trailing, 3-1, the Angels put Frank Robinson on base with a pass in the seventh inning before Bill Champion, Brewers' starter, left the game with a broken fingernail on his pitching hand.

Bob Oliver greeted Eduardo Rodriguez with a double and Leroy Stanton singled to drive in Robinson. After Ken Berry bunted to load the bases, Chris Short relieved. Short walked Winston Llenas to force in the tying run and also passed Sandy Alomar to send the Angels ahead. Vada Pinson then iced the decision with a two-run single. [The Sporting News]
