Dave Rader, working in the battery with Ron Bryant, hit two sacrifice flies to enable the Giants' lefthander to defeat the Expos, 3-1, for his 19th victory. Dave Kingman walked in the second inning, stole second, took third on a wild pitch by Steve Renko and scored the Giants' initial run on Rader's first sacrifice fly. After the Giants added an unearned run in the seventh, Rader hit his second sacrifice fly following singles by Garry Maddox and Mike Phillips in the eighth. [The Sporting News]
