Jim Palmer pitched a six-hitter and Elrod Hendricks and Rich Coggins smashed homers as the Orioles defeated the Twins, 6-1. Brooks Robinson drove in the Orioles' first run with a sacrifice fly in the second inning and plated another with a single in the fourth before scoring himself on Hendricks' homer. A double by Boog Powell and single by Paul Blair added a run in the fifth. The Twins avoided a shutout in their half with a single by Joe Lis and double by Steve Braun.
