. . . where the 1970s live forever!
A three-run double in the 10th inning by John Boccabella gave the Expos a 5-2 victory over the Mets and the sweep of a doubleheader after Steve Rogers had turned in his second straight shutout in the opening game, winning 1-0 over New York and Jon Matlack. The two matched shutout innings until the ninth when Montreal scored on a single by Ron Hunt, a sacrifice and Ken Singleton's double.

The decisive 10th in the nightcap saw the Expos load the bases against loser Buzz Capra on walks to Hunt and Singleton, a wild pitch and an intentional pass to Bob Bailey. Boccabella followed with a bases-clearing drive off the left field wall. The Mets had taken a 2-1 lead in the fifth on Bud Harrelson's triple and a two-out bunt single by Felix Millan, who extended his hitting streak to 16 games. The Expos tied it in the seventh on a pinch-double by Mike Jorgensen and Hunt's two-out single. [The Sporting News]
