An error by Richie Scheinblum that resulted in three unearned runs enabled the Orioles to defeat the Angels, 5-3. The Angels' 3-1 lead was wiped out when the right fielder dropped a line drive by Bobby Grich, allowing two runs to score. Grich reached third on the error and crossed the plate with the leading run on a single by Tommy Davis. The Orioles added an insurance counter when Brooks Robinson walked in the sixth and scored from first base on a double by Andy Etchebarren. [The Sporting News]
