Bob Bailey batted in three runs with a homer and double and walked with the bases loaded for another RBI to lead the Expos to a 10-3 victory over the Pirates. Hal Breeden, Bailey and Ken Singleton produced the Expos' first run with a single in the second inning.

After a double play, Tim Foli and Bill Stoneman walked to load the bases. Ron Hunt then singled to drive in two runs and Stoneman scored on a wild pitch. Bailey hit his homer in the fifth, drew a bases-loaded walk in the sixth and doubled home two runs in the eighth. Richie Hebner and Richie Zisk hit homers in the sixth for the Pirates' runs.
