Home runs by Tommy Hutton, Bob Boone and Cesar Tovar helped the Phillies defeat the Expos, 5-4. Hutton and Boone connected for the circuit in the second inning. After the Phillies picked up additional tallies in the third and fifth, Tovar hit his homer in the sixth to supply what proved to be the deciding run.
