Greg Luzinski batted in three runs with two singles and a double to lead the Phillies to a 5-4 victory over the Giants. With Bobby Bonds hitting a homer, the Giants took a 2-0 lead before the Phillies scored in the third on doubles by Willie Montanez and Luzinski.

The Giants made it 4-1 in the fourth, but Mike Schmidt homered in the Phillies' half and the tying pair followed in the fifth on a walk to Del Unser and singles by Montanez, Luzinski and Tommy Hutton. Unser was hit by a pitch in the seventh, moved up on an infield out and scored the deciding run on a single by Luzinski. [The Sporting News]
