A sudden storm that brought wind, rain and hail forced the postponement of the game between the Dodgers and Braves in the top half of 13th inning with the score tied, 7-7. The Braves, who were trailing, 6-1, forced the game into overtime by rallying for five runs in the eighth. Pinch-hitter Dick Dietz capped the outburst with a three-run double.

The Dodgers went ahead again with a run in the 12th, but the Braves pulled even in their half when Davey Johnson was hit by a pitch and raced home on a double by Mike Lum. The Dodgers had a man on second with one out in the 13th when the game was brought to an abrupt stop. [The Sporting News]
