A sacrifice fly by Mickey Stanley in the 10th inning provided the Tigers with a 6-5 victory over the Red Sox. Mickey Lolich, who is continuing to experience rough going, was knocked out in the eighth when the Red Sox rallied for three runs to tie the score at 5-5. Ike Brown walked for the Tigers in 10th and John Gamble ran for him. With one out, Duke Sims singled and Dick McAuliffe walked to load the bases.
