The nine-game winning streak of the Astros came to an end when relief pitcher Jim York made a bad throw home in the ninth inning to allow the Expos to gain a 4-3 victory. Ken Singleton walked with one out and took third when Ron Woods singled for the Expos' fourth hit of the game. York, replacing Ken Forsch, passed John Boccabella intentionally to load the bases. Boots Day then tapped to York, who fielded the ball and threw into the dirt at the plate to permit Singleton to score. [The Sporting News]
