The Expos erupted for four runs in the sixth inning and added two more on a homer by Ron Fairly in the eighth to defeat the Reds, 6-3. In the sixth, Bob Bailey doubled, Boots Day walked and Ron Hunt singled to load the bases. Jack Billingham, who drew his first loss of the season after four victories, hit Tim Foli with a pitch to force in the first run. Another scored on an infield out by Mike Jorgensen.
