After falling behind, 6-1, the Phillies rallied for four runs in the seventh inning and four more after two were out in the eighth to defeat the Expos, 9-6. The Phillies picked up their runs in the seventh on a wild pitch with the bases loaded, a single by Bill Robinson and double by Cesar Tovar.

With two away in the eighth, Mike Anderson singled and counted the tying tally on a triple by Mike Ryan. Terry Harmon walked and Tommy Hutton followed with a pinch-double, driving in Ryan and Harmon. A single by Larry Bowa plated Hutton with the final run. [The Sporting News]
