Ron Hunt, who set a major league record earlier in the game when he was hit by a pitched ball for the 50th time this season, drove in a run with a single in the ninth inning to give the Expos a 6-5 victory over the Cubs. Hunt was nicked by a Milt Pappas pitch in the second inning to go one up on Hugh Jennings, who was hit 49 times with Baltimore's N. L. club in 1896.

Billy Williams walloped a pair of two-run homers for the Cubs. With the score tied, 5-5, in the ninth, Ray Newman struck out the first two Expos' batters, but Clyde Mashore then singled, Mike Marshall walked and Hunt ended the game with his single. [The Sporting News]
