Marty Pattin pitched a four-hitter and Ken Sanders retired the last two batters for his 31st save as the Brewers defeated the White Sox, 4-2. After each club picked up an unearned run, the Brewers broke away with two runs in the sixth inning on a double by Dave May, single by Jose Cardenal and double by Darrell Porter.

Jay Johnstone homered for the White Sox in the eighth. Pattin was lifted in favor of Sanders after issuing a pass with one out in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
