Al Fitzmorris sparked the Royals' scoring with a single and gained credit for a 3-1 victory over the White Sox with relief help from Ted Abernathy. After hitting his single in the third inning, Fitzmorris advanced on an infield out, stopped at third on a single by Sandy Valdespino and scored on a sacrifice fly by Amos Otis.
