. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Dick Allen, who had gone hitless in eight times at bat, smashed a homer in the 13th inning to give the Dodgers a 4-3 victory, completing the sweep of a twi-night doubleheader with the Padres. The Dodgers won the first game, 4-2, when Cito Gaston misjudged a fly by Manny Mota in the fifth inning and the ball fell safe for a two-run triple. Willie Davis then singled to score Mota.
