Two homers by Joe Hague, who drove in four runs, enabled the Cardinals to outlast the Reds, 5-3. The Cardinals were forced to use four pitchers in the ninth when the Reds rallied for two runs, but Moe Drabowsky saved the game by retiring Al Ferrara on a pop foul with two men on base. The victory moved the Cardinals back into first place in the East division, 1½ games ahead of the Mets and Pirates. [The Sporting News]
