An error by Tony Oliva, who dropped a short fly in right field with two out, allowed the Senators to score the last run in their ninth-inning rally to defeat the Twins, 6-5. Bert Blyleven, pitching for the Twins with a 5-2 lead, retired the first two batters in the ninth, but then was kayoed when Tommy McCraw tripled, Bernie Allen singled and Paul Casanova homered to tie the score. Toby Harrah singled to greet Ray Corbin, moved to second on a wild pitch and scored when Oliva muffed a fly by Dick Billings. [The Sporting News]
