Juan Marichal pitched no-hit ball for eight innings and then shook off a pair of singles in the ninth to complete the Giants' 9-0 victory over the Cubs. Ken Rudolph spoiled Marichal's gem to lead off the ninth and pinch-hitter Jim Hickman followed with another hit. However, Marichal bore down and saved his shutout with the aid of a double play.
