The Yankees completed the sweep of the three-game series with the Tigers, posting a 5-1 victory behind the three-hit hurling of Steve Kline. The Yankees counted twice in the first inning on a run-scoring single by Danny Cater and a passed ball. The Tigers picked up their lone tally in the second on a triple by Norm Cash and sacrifice fly by Dalton Jones.
