Sunday April 26, 1970
. . . where the 1970s live forever!
Tom Seaver, who struck out 19, including the last 10 batters in a row, in his previous start against the Padres, was unable to continue his mastery, fanning only six, but the ace righthander pitched the Mets to a 3-1 victory over the Dodgers. The Mets ended a string of 30 scoreless innings when Donn Clendenon homered in the second.

The Dodgers picked up their run in the fourth on doubles by Willie Davis and Andy Kosco. Mike Jorgensen hit his first major league homer in the sixth to break the tie and pin the defeat on Sandy Vance, who made his debut with the Dodgers. Bud Harrelson followed with a single, stole second, advanced to third on an infield out and then stole home. [The Sporting News]
