After going hitless in 20 trips, Sandy Alomar snapped out of his slump with a single and a resounding double to lead the Angels to a 3-2 victory over the Senators. Aurelio Rodriguez also collected two hits for the Angels and scored what proved to be the winning run on a double by Alomar in the eighth inning. Mike Epstein homered with a man on base in the Senators' half of the eighth.

After the game, the Angels announced the trade of Rodriguez and Rick Reichardt to the Senators for Ken McMullen. [The Sporting News]
