January 22, 1970:
Season 1, episode 1
W: Steve Martin, Michael Elias, Larry Markes, Bob Arbogast, Frank Shaw et al   D: Mark Goode

With Hubert Humphrey, Debbie Reynolds, Daffy Duck.
The dour-faced comic, who came into prominence through appearances with the Smothers Brothers, debuts in his own series. The comedy format will feature skits and interviews. Pat shows how to make a color TV set and parodies a popular TV show; Miss Reynolds plays a prison inmate who resists the kindly overtures of warden Paulsen.

January 29, 1970:
Season 1, episode 2

With Angie Dickinson.
Miss Dickinson plays a girl who has trouble with her TV set and calls in a troubled TV repairman (Paulsen). Pat plays a scientist and the Devil and also conducts an interview with a rat.

February 5, 1970:
Season 1, episode 3

With Mike Connors.
Connors plays a travel agent in a skit with Paulsen, who is planning a vacation on a park bench. Also Paulsen assumes the guise of Jim West, professional crime stopper.

February 12, 1970:
Season 1, episode 4

With Jo Anne Worley.
In a skit, Miss Worley plays Pat's wife who maintains an underwater home. As Mr. Science, Pat explains plant life and he also portrays an African explorer lecturing on the subject of early man. Pat takes the piano with a rock group called The Fathers for "Hey Jude".

February 19, 1970:
Season 1, episode 5

With Carl Betz.
In a skit, Betz plays a relentless attorney and Paulsen is the hapless witness. Then Pat interviews Gentle Bear on the subject of a better image for bears.

February 26, 1970:
Season 1, episode 6

With Joey Heatherton.
In a skit, Joey appears as an electrical appliance salesgirl with aspirations. Pat plays a dream interpreter, Mr. Science and a racetrack announcer.

March 5, 1970:
Season 1, episode 7

With Tom Smothers.
Smothers plays a smart aleck who is sworn in as governor for a day by "Governor Paulsen". In another segment, Tom shows video clips of Pat's first appearance on the Smothers Brothers series and butters up the host nicely. The remainder of the show is devoted to regular features: Paulsen's crime-stopper and comments from the astrology and Hollywood experts Joan Gerber and Jean Byron.

March 12, 1970:
Season 1, episode 8
W: Steve Martin, Frank Shaw

With Don Rickles, Wilt Chamberlain.
Rickles plays a terrible-tempered garage owner who gives his stupid mechanic (Pat) the devil for messy work in one skit, and Chamberlain plays an applicant for a sales job in the "Peanut Brittle" skit. Paulsen holds a safety test, fumbles around with computers, and attempts to construct stereo earphones with amusing results.

March 19, 1970:
Season 1, episode 9

With Don Adams.
Adams plays a rock & roll star who returns to the fifth grade; Paulsen delivers a lecture on the dubious benefits of smoking.

March 26, 1970:
Season 1, episode 10

With Carl Betz.
Betz plays a prosecting attorney who cross-examines a hapless witness (Paulsen) in front of a drunken judge. Later, Pat delivers a dissertation on Hollywood stunt men and takes a pounding in the process.

April 2, 1970:
Season 1, episode 11
W: Steve Martin   D: Mark Goode

With Joey Heatherton.
Miss Heatherton plays Pat's secretary, whose association with the boss isn't restricted to shorthand and typing. Later, Pat lapses into a lecture on photography that manages to be colorful without being instructive.

April 9, 1970:
Season 1, episode 12

With Hal Smith, Joan Gerber.
Pat delivers a lecture on speed reading, sings a meaningful ballad, and discusses television ratings. In a skit, "The Professionals", Hal and Joan find the answer to the question: "Does the average American couple take the time to unwind after a day's work?". In another vignette, Pat pays tribute to Mrs. Buffalo Running Schwartz by reprising "her more brilliant moments" from previous shows. (Last show of the series.)
